Linux does not support exFAT by default but it can be added.
This is a solution to the error:
"Cannot mount unknown filesystem type ‘exfat’."
1 Open Terminal
Open the GNOME Launcher, launch Terminal and type in the following command:
sudo apt install exfat-fuse exfat-utils
Enter your password when prompted.
2 exfat-utils installed
The process is complete once the terminal returns to a flashing cursor.
You can now connect your exFAT device.
