How long is the limited warranty?

You are eligible for Limited Warranty support for the following periods, commencing on the date of dispatch of your product (the “Warranty Period”): - Laptops: 1 year - Mini PCs: 1 year - Solid State Drives (SSDs): 1 year - Accessories: 1 year - Memory (RAM): Lifetime warranty, provided directly by the RAM manufacturer All new Star Labs products include the Warranty Periods listed above, subject to applicable local consumer protection laws, which may grant additional rights or longer coverage periods. Extended warranty An optional extended warranty is available for eligible new Star Labs systems at the time of purchase. This extends the standard one-year Limited Warranty to a total warranty period of 2 or 3 years, depending on the option selected. The coverage provided under the extended warranty is the same as the standard Limited Warranty, with only the duration extended. Please note that third-party products (such as peripherals, components, or accessories not manufactured by Star Labs) are not covered by the Star Labs Limited Warranty. These items may be covered by separate warranties provided by their respective manufacturers. For RAM modules, the lifetime warranty is offered directly by the manufacturer. To make a claim under this warranty, please contact the manufacturer’s support team and provide proof of purchase or product details as required by their policy. For all other third-party products, please refer to the documentation supplied with the product or contact the manufacturer directly for warranty or support information.

What is covered under the Limited Warranty?

Star Labs warrants that your product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal operating conditions for the applicable Warranty Period, starting from the date of dispatch of your purchase. This warranty covers hardware components of the product, including (but not limited to) the mainboard, display panel, keyboard, trackpad, ports, and power circuitry. If a manufacturing defect is confirmed, Star Labs will, at its discretion: - Repair the affected component using new or equivalent parts; - Replace the product with a new or refurbished unit of equal or greater specification; or - Refund the original purchase price if repair or replacement is not possible. All replacement parts and repaired products are covered for the remainder of the original warranty period or 90 days — whichever is longer. Battery Coverage If your product is, or contains, a rechargeable battery, please note that battery performance naturally decreases over time. As such, battery capacity loss due to normal use or age is not considered a defect and is not covered by this Limited Warranty. Actual battery life will vary depending on configuration, workload, charging habits, and environmental conditions. However, premature battery failure (for example, a battery that will not hold charge, will not power on, or exhibits swelling) within the warranty period is covered and will be repaired or replaced free of charge. Accessories and Included Components The Limited Warranty also covers included accessories such as the power adapter and cables supplied with your product, provided they are used as intended and within normal operating limits. Firmware and Software This warranty covers issues arising from firmware supplied by Star Labs. It does not cover problems caused by: - Modifications to firmware, BIOS, or kernel beyond Star Labs’ official releases; - Installation of third-party software, operating systems, or drivers; or - Data loss, corruption, or software configuration errors. Software support, including operating system troubleshooting and data recovery, is not covered under the Limited Warranty. Inspection Requirement All warranty claims are subject to inspection by Star Labs to confirm that: - The fault or defect is due to a manufacturing issue; and - The product shows no evidence of misuse, accidental damage, liquid ingress, or unauthorised modification or repair. If inspection confirms that the issue is not covered under warranty, Star Labs will provide a detailed report and offer a chargeable repair option, with costs agreed before any work is carried out. Shipping Coverage - Within the first 30 days: Star Labs covers all shipping costs, including collection and return, for verified warranty repairs. - After 30 days: The customer is responsible for shipping the product to Star Labs for inspection or repair; Star Labs will cover return shipping once the repair or replacement is complete.

What is the Star Labs Limited Warranty?

1. Coverage Star Labs warrants that your product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship when used under normal operating conditions for the applicable Warranty Period from the date of dispatch of your product. This Limited Warranty is provided in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under UK consumer law. Important: Battery life is not covered under warranty. All rechargeable batteries are consumable components that gradually lose capacity over time. This natural decline in performance is not considered a defect. Actual battery life may vary depending on usage and configuration. 2. Duration The Limited Warranty Period is one (1) year from the date of dispatch of your product (the “Warranty Period”), unless a longer period is required by local law. This warranty applies only to new Star Labs products purchased directly from Star Labs or from an authorised reseller. Star Labs does not provide warranty coverage for third-party products. These may be covered by separate warranties provided by their respective manufacturers. Please refer to the product documentation or contact the manufacturer directly for support. 3. Making a Warranty Claim If you believe your product is defective within the Warranty Period: Contact us via chat, email, or phone to describe the issue. Depending on the nature of the fault, we may offer to ship replacement parts for self-installation (which is typically faster). Alternatively, you may return the product to us for repair. Once received, we will typically repair and return your device within the same working day. We also offer a collect-and-return service, which is often more cost-effective than shipping the laptop independently. Before we can process your claim, Star Labs must confirm that: 1. The product is still within the Warranty Period; and 2. The product was purchased from an authorised seller. You will be required to provide proof of purchase. 4. Proof of Purchase Acceptable forms of proof include: - A dated sales receipt from an authorised Star Labs reseller - An official order confirmation email from Star Labs - An order number from starlabs.systems Star Labs reserves the right to take reasonable steps to protect against fraudulent claims, which may include requesting further verification of identity, purchase details, or ownership. 5. Inspection and Assessment All products returned under warranty will first be inspected by our technical team. If the inspection confirms a manufacturing defect or component failure, the repair or replacement will be carried out under warranty. If the inspection reveals that the issue has been caused by misuse, accidental damage, modification, or liquid ingress, the warranty will not apply. In such cases: - We will provide a detailed report outlining our findings. - Where possible, we can offer to repair the item at your cost. - We will supply a quotation for parts and labour and obtain your written agreement before proceeding. - If you choose not to proceed, we will return the product to you at your expense. 6. Shipping Costs Star Labs covers the following shipping arrangements under this warranty: - Within the first 30 days of delivery: Star Labs will cover all shipping costs — both the return to us and the return shipment back to you — for any verified warranty claim. - After 30 days: The customer is responsible for the cost of shipping the product to Star Labs for inspection or repair. Star Labs will cover the cost of shipping the repaired or replacement product back to you. This approach ensures fair coverage while keeping repair turnaround times fast and cost-effective. 7. Warranty Extensions Star Labs offers an optional extended warranty on new Star Labs systems at the time of purchase. The extended warranty increases the duration of coverage beyond the standard one-year Limited Warranty and provides continued protection against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Extended warranty options, pricing, and terms are presented at checkout and apply only to eligible new products. Extended warranties must be purchased at the same time as the original product order and cannot be added retrospectively. After the applicable warranty period (standard or extended) has expired, Star Labs continues to offer a chargeable repair service for all Star Labs systems. 8. Defective Items and Statutory Rights Your Star Labs product is covered both by this Limited Warranty and by your statutory rights under UK consumer law. If your product is defective or does not conform to the contract of sale, you are entitled to seek a remedy under either: - The UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 (or equivalent local legislation); or - The Star Labs Limited Warranty, as outlined above. Nothing in this warranty limits or excludes your statutory rights.
