How to connect a Bluetooth device on Ubuntu.
1 Open Bluetooth Settings
Open the GNOME Launcher and click on Settings. From here, navigate to Settings > Bluetooth.
2 Bluetooth console
Whilst this window is open, your laptop will automatically search for Bluetooth devices. Put your device in pairing mode as per its instruction manual.
3 Pairing
After approximately 15 seconds, you should see your device in the list.
Click the device name to pair.
4 Verification
Some Bluetooth devices display a code to verify you are connecting to the correct device. Confirm this prompt if it appears.
5 Audio Devices
Please note: if you are pairing a Bluetooth audio device, you may experience issues with audio quality. If you do follow this step.
Open the GNOME Launcher and click on Settings. From here, navigate to Settings > Sound.
Select your Bluetooth audio device.
For devices with audio output only, select the profile High Fidelity Playback (A2DP Sink).
For devices with audio input (microphone) and output, select the profile Headset Head Unit (HSP/HFP)
