Refitting the Horizon Backplate
To fit the backplate correctly, it must be clipped into place in the correct order before the screws are tightened.
If the backplate is not fitted properly, the machine may wobble, and the touchpad may not operate as it should.
Follow these steps:
-
Start at the front edge, closest to the touchpad.
-
Press firmly along the entire front edge until it clips evenly into the touchpad bar.
-
Check that the touchpad bar is fully clipped in across its entire length.
-
Next, clip in the left and right sides.
-
Finish at the hinge side (the back of the machine).
-
Check that the backplate is sitting flat all the way around with no gaps.
-
Before fitting the screws, check the touchpad by pressing on both the left and right sides. It should click and move freely on both sides.
-
If the touchpad clicks correctly, refit the screws.
Important:
Do not use the screws to pull the backplate into position. If any edge is sitting proud, the touchpad bar is not fully clipped in, or the touchpad does not click properly on both sides, remove the backplate and repeat the fitting sequence. Forcing the backplate into place with the screws can cause the machine to wobble or prevent the touchpad from operating correctly.
